BIOGRAPHY
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, into a family of artists who encouraged her creativity, Kahy Gray began drawing and painting when she was very young. Mostly self-taught, she developed her art through observation
and study. She is an accomplished painter, watercolorist and illustrator.
Kathy had always been drawn to the magic and power of the ocean, so in 1986 she moved to Marin County to live near San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Once here, she painted seascapes and became a passionate kayaker, often taking a camera out onto the bay to capture scenes for her studio work.

Kathy studied graphic design at Platt College in San Francisco. She used her skills in photo labs, advertising, framing, and has written and illustrated a story for young readers called Away Nathan. She has created whimsical graphics for chocolate bars and pet food packaging.
Kathy has been commissioned to illustrate and paint family homesteads, pets, seascapes and Marin landmarks. Her most recent work is a panoramic oil painting of the Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding area, one in a series of three Marin landmark panoramics. Currently she is working on a panoramic of Mt. Tamalpais.
